I have had over thirty-five years in private practice treating people through Classical Five-Element Acupuncture and Zero Balancing Structural Acupressure. In addition, I have been teaching as well as supervising acupuncture students in clinical practice for over 20 years. In working with the general population, I have treated a multitude of survivors of sexual violence.

My Interest in Working with Survivors

I feel this is a powerful way to contribute to both individual and global healing, and I want to contribute to a healthier, more just, and kinder world.

My Approach to Trauma-Informed Care

In my work I always treat each person as an individual anyway. But being trauma-informed, I totally understand that buried layers of past traumas most likely will surface on the journey towards the recovery of health. I recognize, and am not judgmental, nor afraid of these symptoms or expressions.

Treatment Modality

Classical Five-Element Acupuncture, Zero Balancing Structural Acupressure, and Plant Spirit Medicine (needle-less acupuncture). All of these treat the whole person: body, mind, and spirit.

How My Practice Holistically Addresses the Impacts of Sexual Violence

By providing an experience of safety, loving-kindness, and powerful healing modalities where one can return to innocence and well-being in nowness, so that healing can occur. I am continually awed by Classical Five-Element Acupuncture’s ability to open the body’s vital energy so that nature can do the healing.

All treatments are totally safe, respectful, and loving, and work at the pace of each individual client, so no modifications are unnecessary. Sometimes in the course of treatment old memories surface, so that people who were not conscious of and didn’t report having been violated, become conscious. Still the treatments can proceed with total loving and respectful care.
